Jane Austen Collection Open House

The Goucher College Library is celebrating the 250th anniversary of novelist Jane Austen’s birth and the 50th anniversary of Goucher Class of 1928 alumna Alberta Hirshheimer Burke’s donation of her Jane Austen collection to the College. Stop by the Special Collections & Archives Open House to view first, rare, and illustrated editions of Austen’s novels, foreign language translations, period publications on landscape, architecture, and fashion.

Special Collections & Archives at Goucher College is a unique collection of rare books, manuscripts, archives, photographs, audio visual materials, oral histories and artifacts that actively supports the academic mission of the College in teaching, research, scholarship, and community enrichment.
